PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS' INFORMATION

Membership and Meetings

Membership is presently about 100.  We organise tramps for each weekend, usually alternating a day walk on Sunday with an overnight trip the next weekend.  We cater for all grades of tramps, especially on long weekends, and include mountain bike trips and socials in our activities.

Intending members are asked to complete two one day walks first by which time we both will know a little about each other and you will be eligible for full membership.

The club meets  at 7:30pm on the first Wednesday of every month at the Fish and Game Council rooms in Champion Road , Richmond   The general public are invited to the meetings and they generally feature a guest speaker/slide show, followed by tea and biscuits and a chat. From  time to time social events are arranged by the committee.

Checking in for Trips

Notify the leaders as follows-

One day trips   by Thursday night
Overnight trips   by Monday night
Long weekends   as advertised in the newssheet

and state your transport requirements including whether or not you are willing to take your car or van.  Please...no phone calls after 9pm!

Trips leave from the northern entrance of Jubilee Park at Richmond for all points west and from Millers Acre carpark, opposite the Nelson Post Office, for all points east. The leader will arrange transport from and back to these pick-up points  but you must arrange your own transport from home.

The leader will decide if the trip has to be cancelled because of weather and will inform everybody accordingly. Don't tramp if you feel under the weather, call in and cancel early.
